Deanna Slate Stennett is a Maryland Licensed Acupuncturist and is Nationally Certified (Dipl. of AC. NCCAOM). You can access her acupuncture website at: www.annapolishealing.com. In 1990, Deanna was introduced to Shamanism when Eliot Cowan, author of Plant Spirit Medicine, taught at the acupuncture school she was attending.
After graduation, Deanna began pursuing Shamanic studies and has completed the following trainings:
-The Foundation For Shamanic Studies Three Year Advanced Training Program
-Sandra Ingerman’s Two Year Teacher’s Training Program and continues to attend ongoing training for teaching, with Sandra Ingerman.
-Tom Cowan’s Two Year Training in Celtic Shamanism.
Deanna’s Shamanic practice, HeartFire Healing Journeys, was founded in 1997 and continues to offer classes and programs locally. HeartFire Healing Journeys is dedicated to teaching people how to connect with the spirit world to bring healing to the physical world. As our ancestors believed that all that exists is part of the One spirit and is sacred, Deanna is passionate about bringing this belief back to our modern world. Our beloved Mother Earth is in desperate need of being honored and treated with love and respect. HeartFire Healing Journeys not only teaches people how to become whole in themselves, but also how to contribute to the wholeness of the planet, how to stop viewing nature as an inanimate thing to be used, and begin to view nature as sentient and alive, “someone” to be in partnership with.
Deanna also offers private Shamanic healing sessions for Soul Retrieval, Extraction, Power Animal Retrieval, House Clearing and Energy work.
As for Deanna's acupuncture training, she studied with Professor J.R. Worsley in Miami, Florida and Leamington Spa, England. She graduated from the Worsley Institute (now called the Academy for Five Element Acupuncture) in 1993. She has been practicing in Anne Arundel County since 1995.
